Since the last couple of years, Xiaomi has only focussed on budget smartphones in the Indian market. The Chinese company has launched numerous devices under its Redmi and Mi A lineup. With that said, we have seen only a few phones under the company’s original Mi lineup. For those who’re unaware, the smartphone maker entered into the country with Mi 3 smartphone and later ended up launching Mi 4 and Mi 5. Since then, we haven’t seen any successor to the long-forgotten Mi 5 in India.
It seems like the company is now planning to launch more premium smartphones in the country this year. This does not mean that the brand will stop refreshing the Redmi devices. After making its name for the Redmi series, Xiaomi now wants to compete in the premium segment as well. In fact, the brand might start the game with its Mi Mix Alpha and Mi Note 10. Even though the Mi Mix Alpha has already been listed on Xiaomi’s website, it still has not gone on any sale. We might soon see the official first sale of the smartphone. The Mix Alpha comes with a price tag of RMB 19,999 in China. This means that the device can sell for as high as INR 2,50,000 in India.

Looking at the previous rumors, Xiaomi is also expected to launch Mi Note 10 somewhere around this month. We’re expecting a launch price of around INR 40,000. With more premium devices, Xiaomi might try to compete with the likes of OnePlus and Huawei. Apart from these two, we should see more Mi smartphones launching in India this year. Furthermore, Xiaomi will also venture into the IoT ecosystem. The smartphone maker already has numerous smart home products in its portfolios such as air purifiers, smart lights, smart cameras and many more. Aside from this, the company will also be expanding its smart Mi TV lineup with bigger screen options.
