We are already aware of the fact that Apple is working on an affordable iPhone for the year 2020. For a long time, the leaks and rumors were pointing towards iPhone SE 2 device. It is in December that reports started emerging for a potential iPhone 9 smartphone. Well, we now have more information on the smartphone. If the recent report is to be believed, it seems like Apple wants to launch iPhone 9 as soon as possible. Furthermore, the company is planning to target emerging markets such as India.
As of now, the current testing of the product has ended meaning the company is now planning to launch the device. The sudden rush for the launch of the iPhone 9 in the market such as India makes sense. The brand has already been losing its grip in the Chinese dominating markets. An affordable iPhone 9 (aka iPhone SE2) might make up for in some way. With that said, it would be interesting to see how well the device will perform actually.

The report has also confirmed the fact that iPhone 9 is nothing but the previously rumored iPhone SE2. It is worth mentioning that the iPhone SE2 aka iPhone 9 is exactly the same as the iPhone 8. The upcoming affordable iPhone should come with a 4.7-inch display with Touch ID fingerprint authentication. There are of course a few differences in the device such as matte finish at the back. This will add a thickness of 0.5mm to the device. Although we will still see the glass back on the device.
Furthermore, Apple iPhone 9 will come in two storage variants – 64GB and 128GB options. The former will come with a price tag of $399 while the latter will set you back $499 or $449. Previous rumors suggest that the device will be on sale in the first quarter of the year. The Cupertino-based company generally hosts press conferences every year in March. We might see the device going official during the conference. The smartphone will run on A13 chipset means it will support iOS updates for the next few years. Coming to the price tag, the device will be priced less than 3,000 Yuan (roughly $437).
Dear Apple,
I already have 3 computers at home… just give me an option for a damn phone!
The numbering scheme makes zero sense. What will the next one be? 10 😛
