Huawei P40 Plus? Huawei to add a larger display model to the P40 series?

Huawei P40 Pro

Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, will release the Huawei P40 series in March. However, there are some new details regarding this series. In addition to the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro, there are reports that we may have a Plus version. According to the report, Huawei P40 Plus is the large screen version of the P40. Its display size is about 6.9-inches and it will use the same four-curved display design as the P40 Pro. In addition, it may also support high refresh rates and on-screen fingerprint recognition.

Huawei P40 Pro

Although we can not verify this speculation, there has been conflicting information regarding the Huawei P40 Pro. We have seen two different renders for this device. The one from AndroidHeadlines is a bit different from the one from @evleaks. If the P40 Plus really exist, one of these might just be the Plus model. However, the P40 Pro (or the Plus model) will support a Penta-rear camera setup with a 10x optical zoom.

Gizchina News of the week

Recall that the Huawei Mate 20 series has the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20X. Here, the Mate 20X is the large-screen version. Therefore, the P40 series may follow the Mate 20 series and launch a large-screen version.

Huawei P40 Pro or Huawei P40 Plus? Previous Speculations

If the latest report is true, then the Huawei P40 Pro will have interfingering specs with the Plus model.  From what we know, the Huawei P40 Pro comes with a 6.5-inch OLED curved screen display. Under the hood, we have a Kirin 990 SoC. This phone also has up to 12GB of RAM, a battery capacity of about 5000 mAh (support for 50W HUAWEI SuperCharge), and a wired / wireless dual flash charging. It will run on EMUI 10 on top of Android 10 but still without Google Mobile Services.

As for the paint job, the latest report shows only two colours – white and black. However, previous speculations suggest that we could have up to five colours for the P40 series. The colours include black, gold, silver gray, blue, and the sky. All the paint jobs use a gradient design. We expect the Premium Edition to have just two colours – white and black.
