OnePlus 8 Pro hands-on image shows optional 120Hz / 90Hz / 60Hz refresh rate

Following the render images of the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro which hit the web a few days ago, we now have a new hands-on image of this smartphone that shows the screen refresh rate options. From the image, the OnePlus 8 Pro will certainly support the flagship 120Hz refresh rate. However, there will be 90Hz and 60Hz options for users. This is a good plan because the high refresh rate is a battery killer and there would be times when we will need battery than refresh rate.

However, the hands-on image does not reveal the display resolution of this smartphone. Thus it is not certain of the OnePlus 8 Pro can maintain a 120Hz refresh rate at 2K resolution. In addition, the OnePlus 8 Pro will also use a punch-hole full-screen design. The front camera hole is at the upper left of the screen and the bezels on both sides are ultra-thin.

According to speculations, this smartphone will use a hyperboloid punch-hole screen. It comes with a 6.65-inch display and will be equipped with a Snapdragon 865 processor. This smartphone will also support 5G network. On the camera side, the OnePlus 8 Pro will use a quad-rear camera solution. Three cameras are arranged vertically in the middle, and another 3D TOF lens and LED flash will be on the left side of the three-camera. The exact configuration of the cameras is still under wraps.

OnePlus 8 Pro should combine 2K screen with 120Hz refresh rate

This smartphone will definitely have the 120Hz refresh rate functionality, and it is likely to hit the OnePlus 8 too. It could reach the latter with only FullHD+ resolution. The OnePlus Lite should be around 90Hz. Remember that this device has to combine 120Hz with WQHD+ (2K) resolution. It is rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S20 will also offer this refresh rate, but limiting it to FullHD+. OnePlus is not the first in the market to bet on 90Hz nor will it be the first to bet on 120Hz. However, it is one of the earliest companies to develop higher refresh rate.
