Gizchina News of the week

Not long ago, research data from “CINNO”, shows that Samsung’s AMOLED smartphone panel shipments hit 390 million units worldwide. BOE shipped only 18 million units less than Samsung, ranking second. Furthermore, Visionox, LGD, Hehui Optoelectronics, and Tianma ranks third to sixth.

According to this data, BOE market has huge room for growth. In addition, its newly launched Chengdu AMOLED production line is now mass-producing products and its yield exceeds 85%. However, regarding the signing of an order with Apple, BOE has no positive response for now.

BOE hit the center stage in the AMOLED display market over a year ago. This was after the Huawei used its display for some of the ate 20 series. Overall, the performance of BOE’s display for Huawei is satisfactory. Thus, its display is presently a cheaper alternative to the more expensive and maybe better Samsung or LG display.
