OnePlus’ flagship phones have always packed some of the best hardware on the market, such as the latest the OnePlus 7T Pro featuring a high-res QHD+ 90Hz screen. That said, the Chinese phone maker has never brought a feature that in many are still waiting for: wireless charging.

Is the OnePlus 8 Pro Going to Feature Fast Wireless Charging? Maybe Yes!

Previously, CEO and co-founder of OnePlus, Pete Lau, said in an interview that OnePlus’ fast wired charging technology is already very good; adding that wired is more convenient than wireless. He also said that OnePlus wants to ensure that its wireless charging standard has the same quality of its Warp Charge tech. Unfortunately though, OnePlusā€™ wireless charging tech was still causing heating issues.

Gizchina News of the week

Well today, it would appear as that isn’t the case anymore. Twitter user “Max J.” did indeed just leak a rendering of what’s allegedly a OnePlus 8 Pro using wireless charging. Thus strongly suggesting that OnePlus is likely to adopt fast wireless charging technology on the upcoming flagship.

Now, we cannot get much else from the picture above, but we can safely assume OnePlus would use 30W wireless charging, a technology pioneered by Xiaomi in 2019. This tech would bring a more efficient power delivery and be up there in terms of power with wired charging.

Additionally, according to previous news, the OnePlus 8 series will abandone the pop-up camera design in favor of the punch-hole camera style. The camera hole appears to be located in the upper left corner of what seems to be a curved display. Said display should then feature 2K resolution and a very high 120Hz refresh rate.
