Poco X2 or Poco F2? – Poco F1 successor’s launch date confirmed

A couple of days ago, we had official confirmation that the Pocophone brand is going independent. Given that the Poco F1 was released in August 2018 and it remains the only phone of the brand, netizens believe that its successor is long overdue. Recently, the manager of Poco India, Manmohan Chandolu spilled the beans on the Poco F1 successor. One very important information from him is that this device will arrive in March 2020. What we do not know is its name. The speculations making the rounds is Poco F2 or Poco X2.

According to Chandolu, the Poco brand will still use Xiaomi’s robust supply chain as well as MIUI for Poco. Nevertheless, it will concentrate on value-for-money smartphones with flagship chips and huge RAM.

Although Poco is independent, it will still do a lot of things with Xiaomi. Its user data will remain on Xiaomi’s data centers and after-sales services remain via Xiaomi’s channels. For now, Poco will restrict itself to online marketing. However, it has plans for the offline market. The independence of the Poco brand does not mean expansion. This brand will still concentrate on the Indian market. Its manager believes that international expansion will take more time.

Poco X2 or Poco F2 – Which will it be?

Conventionally, we will expect the Poco brand to continue its F line up. However, with its independence, it might want to spring up some surprises. A recent trailer on Poco India’s official Twitter handle left a lot of fans thinking. The tag “Season 2 Episode 1” probably means “second phone from Poco but first phone after independence”.

While there are reports that Poco’s first phone as an independent brand will be Poco X2, recent speculations suggest that another possibility. The company could release two smartphones – Poco F2 and Poco X2. While the Poco F2 will continue as a mid-range phone, the Poco X2 will be a high-end device.
