God of War 2 may debut simultaneously with Sony PS5

The launch of Sony’s next-generation console PlayStation 5 (PS5) is still many months away. However, gaming enthusiasts are now looking forward to the rumored February 5th event where Sony will reportedly announce the specs of the PS5. Unfortunately, official information regarding the PS5 is hard to come by but we make do with speculations. The latest report claims that if the February 5th event holds, God of War developer, Santa Monica Studio, will be there. This report fuels rumors that God of War 2 is a possibility and may launch with the PS5.

Recall that God of War is one of the best PS4 exclusives thus a second version of this game for PS5 wouldn’t be a bad idea. Please note that this doesn’t necessarily confirm that God of War 2 would launch alongside the PS5. However, it is cool to anticipate the arrival of this game. According to GameRant, God of War 2 is certainly in development. However, the name of the game in development could be something else.

God of War 2 or Legendz – Which will it be?

Earlier rumors claim that Sony Santa Monica Studio will announce its new IP “Legendz” at the PS5 event. As of now, we only know the title of the game. There is no story, gameplay, or commentary as to what Legendz actually stands for. This generates the possibility that Santa Monica Studio may have a different game. Furthermore, GameRant believes that “Legendz and God of War 2 are two separate games, that doesn’t mean it’s an exclusive process where only one of them is in development”.

Of course, the rumors here are just a possibility, and its best to take it with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, if the February 5th specs release event holds, then we will have some confirmation soon. PlayStation 5 enthusiasts may want to keep a tab with us so as to get the info as soon as possible.

God of war 5 (FIVE) . God of war 2 came out on the PlayStation 2. The last one that came out was God of war 4. It wasn’t a reboot it was a continuation of the story from God of war 3 if you’re going to write an article about it at least get the numbering right.

David I think you are slightly wrong, first of all the latest God of war is just named god of war not god of war 4, and also it’s not a continuation of god of war 3, it’s totally a different theme (Norse mythology not the normal Greek mythology) and the new God of war in the pipes is God of war 2, please note this might likely be a continuation of the latest god of war (Norse mythology)

  Yes it is. Kratos even has the scar from the fight with Zeus. It’s God of War 4. There is even mentions of his past in the current game. Lol. The whole part with the kid being sick had to with him being a god thinking he was mortal. Kratos is a god. Basically the last god of Greeks. The kid got was made by a God. The fight at the beginning even talks about what Kratos is. The blades are there too. The gameplay and how the game worked was redone. But the story is very much a continuation of the last game. It takes place decades after GoW 3. Just so happens that Kratos lives where gods of different religions, nationalities, etc exists.

  Have you even played the God of war games? he’s in the norse lands because he journeyed there after the events of God of war 3 the game references events from the previous games has flashbacks to them he still has the blades of chaos from the previous games the last game was the fourth god of war and it is a direct continuation of the story from the previous three you would have to be pretty damn dumb to have played the God of war games and not know but the last one that came out was God of war 4

Yamika, it’s most definitely a continuation of his life and therefore a continuation of his stoy/game. Even in the latest GoW they flash back to the events of GoW 3, just because it’s different mythology doesnt make it a different game altogether. In GoW 4/GoW he is trying to escape the events of GoW 3 and move on with his life.

It is what you call a soft reboot…. but still is a direct and obvious continuation of the original series, so in a sense it would make more sense to just call it “GOD OF WAR PS5” anything else would be stupid

  It wasn’t even a soft reboot it was just a continuation of the story. Nothing that had been in the previous games was changed they just added more on to it

  When I said soft reboot, I meant what they did with the story arc and how they changed from the whole Greek mythos to Norse and what they did with how the game is played
