In recent times, there have been a lot of leaks and speculations regarding Poco’s upcoming smartphone. By convention, we will expect the Poco F1 successor to be Poco F2. However, a recent tweet by Poco India shows that Pocophone’s next smartphone will certainly not be Poco F2. The question now is “what will it be?”.

Looking at previous speculations, there are indications that the company will release Poco X2. In fact, a recent tweet gives a strong clue that the next Pocophone will be Poco X2. However, in its latest tweet, a spinning wheel seem to give other options. After the wheel stops rolling, we have “Poco ??”. However, the “??” represents a letter and a number. From the wheel, the letters are “P, F, O, and C” while the numbers are “1, 2 and 3”. Looking at these, the possible combinations are P1, P2, P3, F1, F2, F3, O1, O2, O3, C1, C2, and C3. This wheel leaves us with 12 optional names but this has been reduced to 10 since F1 and F2 are out.

Gizchina News of the week

Poco X2 not Poco F2

The available options now are Poco P1, P2, P3, F3, O1, O2, O3, C1, C2, or C3. Since this is the first “1” smartphone after its independence, we will want to fancy Poco P1, O1 or C1. However, O1 seems pretty odd so P1 or C1 is our best bet considering the clue on the wheel. Interestingly, we can’t find the popular Poco X2 on the wheel. This creates some sort of confusion regarding the actual name of Poco’s next smartphone.

Pocophones is going independent but still “dependent” on Xiaomi

According to the manager of Poco India, Manmohan Chandolu, the Poco brand will still use Xiaomi’s robust supply chain as well as MIUI for Poco. Nevertheless, it will concentrate on value-for-money smartphones with flagship chips and huge RAM. Although Poco will be independent, it will still do a lot of things with Xiaomi. Its user data will remain on Xiaomi’s data centers and after-sales services remain via Xiaomi’s channels. For now, Poco will restrict itself to online marketing. However, it has plans for the offline market. The independence of the Poco brand does not mean expansion. This brand will still concentrate on the Indian market. Its manager believes that international expansion will take more time.
