Microsoft has announced the end of Windows 7 support a few days ago, which means that users of this operating system will stop receiving security patches or updates.
Although the last patches that Windows 7 received did not introduce major changes, it seems that one of them has not worked as expected and is causing problems with the wallpaper to some users.
“After installing KB4534310, your wallpaper may appear black when set to Expand,” explains Microsoft. This only affects the Expand option, while the Fill, Adjust, Mosaic or Center options work without a problem.
Microsoft has thought it was not a good end to Windows 7 and has decided to develop a patch. Initially, Microsoft said it was working on a patch that would be available “for organizations that have acquired the Extended Security Updates of Windows (ESU)”. But the company has changed its mind and now says the patch will reach all users with Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 SP1.

Microsoft Forced to Extend Free Support for Windows 7, days After Ending it Due to Bug in its Last Update
It is not usual for Microsoft to release patches and updates for operating systems that have gone out of support, as customers who want keeping their system up to date must pay for the ESU program. The price is around $25-50 per machine and doubles every year. A few days ago we learned that the German government will pay $900,000 for their PCs in the first year.
Microsoft suggests to Windows 7 users buying a new PC and not upgrading their existing equipment.
For most Windows 7 users, it is recommended to use a new device that runs Windows 10 Pro. Surface devices are faster, lighter, more powerful and more secure. In addition, their average price is significantly lower than the average price eight years ago.
Microsoft also pointed out that Windows 10 comes with all the basic drivers. This means that you could boot into Windows normally and you will not face big difficulties.
