Apple just reported strong iPhone sales for the last quarter of 2019. Even with all the success, there is a specific part of Apple fans that would still love to have a smaller iPhone with a home button. Rumors of a successor to the iPhone SE have been going on for years. This year, however, it seems that we will finally get the highly-anticipated sequel in the form of the iPhone 9. It will come with a design that clearly resembles iPhone 6, 7 and 8.
Today a new report emerged from My Drivers and according to it, Industry source informed that the iPhone SE 2 is already under trial production. Furthermore, they confirm that the smartphone will be dubbed iPhone 9 with a launch scheduled for sometime in March. According to the industry supply chain the total order volume would exceed 30 million units.
Gizchina News of the week
According to the report, Apple would begin mass production of the iPhone 9 sometime in mid-February. The iPhone 9 would appeal to emerging markets and may sell for under CNY 3,000 (~$432). That’s a good price that is also in line with the iPhone SE that first launched for $399 back in 2016.
Unfortunately, we still don’t know what the specifications of such an iPhone would be. We know that it will boost the A13 Bionic chipset. Worth noting that users may be expecting something that is different enough if you’re coming from an iPhone 8. The iPhone SE launched with the same camera and processor as the iPhone 6S.
