Earlier today, we reported about a newly surfaced patent of a Meizu phone with a circular camera design dubbed “Oreo” camera module. Now, a very interesting image of what’s allegedly the Meizu 17 has been leaked online.

We say “allegedly” as the leakster himself didn’t give a name to the phone in the image. He did say we’re looking at a brand’s first punch-hole camera phone though.

Currently, there aren’t too many manufacturers left without punch-hole camera equipped phones. As a matter of fact, there are only two major Chinese brands without such device, they are IQOO (Vivo’s sub brand) and Meizu. That said, Chinese media appears to be certain we’re looking at a Meizu phone. More specifically the Meizu 17, the company’s upcoming flagship.

Gizchina News of the week

The Meizu 17 was rumored to be one of the first handsets with the latest and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. Well, actually, Meizu themselves hyped up the device about a month back; only to never talk about it in the following weeks.

As we previously mentioned, earlier today we had a look at a patent which allegedly portrays the Meizu 17 as well. It’s a smartphone with a circular camera module that includes four cameras and a dual LED flash in the center.

Either way, specs wise, the Meizu 17 is expected to boast the previously mentioned Snapdragon 865; along with at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, as we just learned, the screen will finally see an “upgrade” from the slim top and bottom bezels, to just having a punch-hole camera in the upper right corner.

Finally, as for its release date, we still have no official info about that. But we do expect it to launch in late February, March the latest.
