Xiaomi Patent: rear camera module can be folded to the front

Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, has been very vigorous with patents in recent times. Many of its recent patent design doesn’t feel like technologies that will hit the market anytime soon. Its latest patent design falls in the same category. Recently, a Xiaomi patent with a flip camera design hit the web.

Xiaomi Patent

According to the information from China Intellectual Property Office (CNIPA), the patent was filed in early 2018 and was recently approved for inclusion. The Xiaomi patent illustration shows that the camera module on the back of the phone can be folded to the front. This smartphone shows a solution that does not need a notch or punch-hole.

The patent also shows different camera module positions, some in the middle and some on the left. In other respects, the patent also shows that the phone has a volume button and a power button on the right side. In addition, it also has a SIM card holder on the left as well as the Xiaoai exclusive button. This smartphone if it ever hit the market will use a USB Type-C charging port.

Like we said earlier, this is only a patent and it may never see the light of day. Nevertheless, do you think such a solution is feasible? Let us know your thought in the comment below.
