Chinese manufacturing giant, OnePlus, is doing quite well in the smartphone market – at least in the flagship segment. Its recent device, OnePlus Concept One shows that the company is trying to be innovative. OnePlus used a dimmable glass on its Concept One phone to showcase the invisible camera solution. Now, a recent OnePlus patent with WIPO Global Design Database indicates more of the company’s mobile devices will use this feature in the future.
The patent shows that there is a circular camera on a device, similar to the OnePlus 7T. However, this camera seems to be covered with a rotating camera cover. It has the options of “opening” or “closing”. As of now, the operation of this cover is not clear. We do not know if it is manual or automatic.

It is worth noting that there is no visible selfie camera on the front of the device. The patent also shows top, side, and bottom views of the phone. There is also no pop-up camera on any side of the phone. This means that this device will probably use the invisible camera solution.
This technology isn’t ready yet but may be used in devices in a few years. However, we can be certain that we won’t be seeing this tech on OnePlus upcoming flagship series, OnePlus 8.
