Xiaomi Mi 10 will be expensive – Lei Jun confirms


Following Lu Weibing’s advance notice of the Xiaomi Mi 10 series announcement, the first real images of the Mi 10 series hit the web. The images are consistent with the previous exposure – the front and back use curved surfaces. We also know that Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship will use LPDDR 5 memory as standard. Chang Cheng, vice president of Xiaomi Technology, also hinted that Xiaomi Mi 10 will support UFS3, Snapdragon 865, LPDDR5.0 as well as 5G network. With all these specifications, what do we expect of the price tag?

In this regard, some netizens strongly believes that Xiaomi Mi 10 will increase its price. There are too many variables which points to the price increase. Some of the features which certainly raises its price are 

  • UFS 3.0
  • LPDDR5
  • 108MP camera
  • Snapdragon 865
  • 5G network
  • 90Hz Samsung curved screen

Interestingly, Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO responded to a Weibo post, saying that “this time…I asked to lift the price constraint and focus on making the product better!”. This statement shows that the Xiaomi Mi 10 will first consider quality before the budget.

The Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro should launch on February 13th and the launch event will be held online. As f now, there is no official date for these devices to hit the shelves. Usually, it takes a couple of weeks.
