Last year, Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor, released the Honor 9X smartphone in China. This phone only recently arrived in India and now, it appears that a Lite model is on the way. According to a new promotional poster, Huawei is working on the Honor 9X Lite. This poster gives us a couple of clues regarding the smartphone – most importantly, it will use GMS.
From the poster, this smartphone will come with a dual rear camera setup. The main sensor will be a 48MP unit but there is no information on the secondary camera. Beneath the main sensor is the LED flash. To the right of the camera array, there is a text which reads ’48MP AI Camera’. The image shows this device in a greenish-blue colour and it has a rear fingerprint sensor. Lastly, we can spot a power button and the volume rocker on the right side of the Honor 9X Lite smartphone.
Gizchina News of the week
Will Honor 9X Lite really use Google Mobile Services?
Huawei has categorically stated that even if the US removes the ban, it will continue to use its internal Huawei Mobile service. However, it appears that it still has an interest in Google Mobile Services. The Honor 9X Lite was spotted on the Google Play certification. This technically means that the device will come pre-installed with Google Play Store, Google Mobile Services, and Google apps.
Looking closely at the model numbers (JSN-L21, JSN-L22, and JSN-L23) of this device, they are the same with Honor 8X. This could be a mistake on the website listing or maybe Huawei is just rebranding the Honor 8X with a new name. Nevertheless, we will know more about this device in the coming weeks.
