Chinese manufacturing giant, OnePlus, is getting ready to unveil its latest flagship series, OnePlus 8 series. This time, it will have an “affordable flagship” model, OnePlus 8 Lite which should expand the company’s business. OnePlus usually releases new smartphones in May and October. However, recent reports claim that the company will release the latest series early. According to Ishan Agarwal, the OP8, OP8 Pro, and probably the Lite model will arrive in late March or early April.

Furthermore, there are speculations that this smartphone series will add a green version. We can see that OnePlus is not only expanding its series, it is also providing more options. Earlier reports claim that the OP8 Pro will add wireless charging. This feature will be a plus for the flagship model.  The OP8Pro comes with a punch-hole camera design as well as a curved display. The display panel size is about 6.65-inch. It is slightly larger than the OnePlus 8’s 6.5-inch panel.

Gizchina News of the week

OnePlus 8 supports 8GB RAM minimum

According to reports, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro also support 5G connection. These phones (except the Lite model) uses a Snapdragon 865 processor and 8GB / 12GB LPDDR5 memory. Three storage options are available – 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. On the other hand, OnePlus 8 Lite will use the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 SoC and 8GB LPDDR4x memory.

Both OP8 and the Lite version will use a 4000mAh battery with 30W fast charging technology. However, the OnePlus 8 Pro will be equipped with a 4500mAh battery which supports 50W fast-charging. Presumably Warp Charge 50, if current branding is used. The first time we saw this technology was all the way back in 2018 on the Oppo Find X Lamborghini. And, more recently, the Realme X2. The leak seems to be quite accurate in most parts, but we still recommend you to digest it with a pinch of salt. There are also reports that the OP8 Pro fast charging will be 35W. Whatever the case may be, we will know for sure in the coming weeks.
