The Nokia N9 released in June of 2011 was the first smartphone launched by Nokia after giving up with the Symbian OS. The N9 was indeed equipped with the Meego system jointly launched by Nokia and Intel.
Is this What the Nokia N9 2020 Would Look Like?
The handset used a Texas Instruments OMAP3630 processor; along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. On September 28th 2011, following Nokia’s announcement of abandoning Meego, Intel officially announced its abandonment of Meego; thus the Nokia N9 became the only Meego phone to ever hit the market.
Fast forwarding to today, media reports suggest that Nokia might want to launch a remake of Nokia N9. So, the very unique Nokia phone could finally have a chance to appear again.
Of course, the smartphone would look much more modern, with a full screen design and slimmer bezels. To put that idea into real images the designer Antony Andreas created some really interesting renders of the so-called “Nokia N9 2020”.
Gizchina News of the week
The Nokia N9 2020 edition appears to feature a large display at the front; most likely of the AMOLED type with Always On Display support. Bezels aren’t too thin on the side, but the chin and forehead are definitely slimmer compared to the original phone from 2011.
As far as photography is concerned, the smartphone appears to feature a selfie snapper in the upper right corner. Meanwhile on the back we find two rear cameras with Zeiss lenses paired with an LED flash.
Finally, we find a feature many would really appreciate in 2020: the 3.5mm headphone jack; which in this case is placed at the bottom of the handset.
Obviously, this is just a fan made render, but it does look quite interesting and possibly realistic. Maybe add another rear camera and Nokia has a real winner in their hands for the brand aficionados out there.

Yes offcourse
The Lumia 920/1020 was a game changer. I still use a few of them with the wireless charging stands as 32 GB MP3 players. Microsoft lost everything when they ruined these great phones. Once MS took over they wrecked everything in that phone division and never measured up to what Nokia created with Belfiore. WP 8.1 was a polished interface. The device was my all time favorite. I loved the design and build of it. MS turned it into crappy knock offs with software that was never out of an Alpha state. I would love to see Nokia build out their own Android interface with the MS aesthetic tiled interface and device again. MS abandoned it. Make it with Android guts. They had the best onscreen keyboards I’ve ever used. Todays camera, chips and memory in the 920 form factor I would gladly buy these over these other gimmicky overpriced fad devices. Those wireless charging stands. The dedicated camera button for instant photos. The cloud synced photos backup. 32-64 GB plus SD added memory. Dual SIM capacity. Waterproof and ruggedized a bit wouldn’t hurt. I keep checking back to see if they were coming back. Samsung priced the Edge phones out of practical use. I want to go back to my Nokia if it could just run apps.
