Samsung expects the Galaxy Z Flip to be far more popular than the Galaxy Fold

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will be the South Korean giant’s next bet in a market that is still clearly expanding. Despite this scenario, the company seems to be quite confident regarding the success of the device.

According to the Korea Herald, Samsung expects to sell 2.5 million copies of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. A pretty bold number for a foldable smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Fold did not sell more than 500 thousand copies. According to the latest data from Samsung, the Galaxy Fold will have sold between 400 to 500 thousand units in the last year. We have to take into account that we are talking about a device with a price that exceeds $2,000 and arrived in stores only in September.

These figures attest to how bold the goal set by Samsung for its next foldable. The South Korean has already ordered 500,000 copies of the Z Flip, but instructed its production lines to build an additional 2 million units, if necessary.

The price will be decisive for the success of the Galaxy Z Flip

We expect that the Samsung Z Flip will cost about $1400 which is much more affordable value than that of the Galaxy Fold. With this differential, the South Korean company hopes that the new foldable can have greater success in the market.

In order to be able to practice these values, Samsung will cut production costs. One example is the use of the Snapdragon 855 processor. Although it is still a very capable SoC, it is the top of the range from last year.

The cameras are also unlikely to contain the same cutting-edge technology that we expect in the Galaxy S20. That is, the Z Flip will not be for those who want the best specifications on the market, but for those who want to be at the forefront of technology.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will be officially unveiled tomorrow, together with the Galaxy S20. There we will get to know all the details of this foldable device.
