Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, has not been able to use Google Mobile Services since last year. This means that many potential buyers outside China may have a rethink before purchasing Huawei’s latest devices. Nevertheless, this did not deter the company from releasing devices outside China. Last year, Huawei released the Mate 30 Pro. This smartphone is already available in select markets outside China. However, the global release has been a difficult process.
Nevertheless, recent reports show that this smartphone has finally landed in the UK market. According to Huawei, the Mate 30 Pro will be exclusively available at the Carphone Warehouse on February 20. As for its price, this device will sell for 899 pounds ($1174).
This device will not sell without some goodies. After pre-registering, users will get a good bundle. This bundle includes free Huawei FreeBuds 3 wireless headphones and Huawei Watch GT2 watches. The bundle will be available for a limited period. However, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro for the UK only supports 4G and there is only one colour option – space silver.
Gizchina News of the week
Like other European regions, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro in the UK market will not support Google Mobile Services (GMS). This means there is no Google Play Store, Search, Maps, Gmail, etc. Instead, the Mate 30 Pro will rely on Huawei’s own AppGallery store and the Amazon App Store. Carphone Warehouse has taken a wise move, saying it will provide a “dedicated VIP support team” for Huawei Mate 30 Pro buyers to guide them on how to use smartphones without GMS.
