Meizu 17 Appears in New Render with a Very Unique Camera Setup

Meizu 17

The upcoming Meizu 17 is definitely one of the most awaited devices in the Chinese smartphone world and that’s despite the company being rather quiet about it. To make up for that, a leaked render now surfaces from the Asian country; let’s have a closer look!

Meizu 17 Appears in New Render with a Very Unique Camera Setup

As we can see in the image above, shared online by the leakster “Buka” over on Chinese social Weibo, the next Meizu flagship will be featuring a very interesting design. The smartphone does indeed appear to boast a unique back cover with the camera setup that gives shape to the number “17”. Being “17” also the name of the phone, that would be quite ingenuous if it were to be confirmed.

Gizchina News of the week

The number 17 isn’t made out of cameras only though. In fact, we actually find only three rear sensors, while the other two circles are LED flashes. Now, we aren’t sure why Meizu wouldn’t just equip the device with 4 sensors, as that’s now an average number of cameras. Additionally, we believe there’s no reason why it’d need two LED flashes.

Design of the back aside, the Meizu 17 is going to pack the typical high-end hardware we find on a flagship; as previously teased by Miezu’s founder, Huang Zhang. This means we’ll see it equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC; along with a 5G modem to support SA and NSA dual-mode 5G.

According to leaks surfaced in the past weeks, Meizu‘s flagship will see a change from the thin top and bottom bezel design, to a more modern full screen design with a punch-hole camera. We also expect to see the last generation LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage; for better performance while lowering power consumption.

Finally, we still have no official info about the smartphone’s release date. Everything suggests it’ll launch this sprint the latest.
