Today Microsoft has finally announced a couple of specifications of the upcoming Xbox Series X. The company reveals how this device will handle backward compatibility. According to Microsoft, the Xbox Series X will support “four generations” of Xbox games. This is a confirmation of the hint which the company dropped last year.
“Our commitment to compatibility means that existing Xbox One games, including backward-compatible Xbox 360 and the original Xbox games, look and play better than before,” said Xbox head Phil Spencer. He added Your favorite games, including those in the Xbox Game Pass, will benefit from a more stable framework, faster load times, higher resolution and visual fidelity-all of which don’t require developer work”.
Furthermore, the Xbox Series X also adds a new feature called “Smart Transfer”. If developers and publishers are willing to use it, this feature can turn Xbox games into universal applications. This technology allows you to buy a game once and know-whether you play on the Xbox One or Xbox Series X – no matter what game you play on the Xbox, you get the right version.
