Samsung’s new OLED screen reduces power consumption by 15%

Galaxy S20

Samsung has just released its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S20 series. According to multiple test reports, this seriesĀ uses the best OLED screen technology currently available. Before the Galaxy S20 series, many consider the iPhone 11 Pro to have the best OLED display. Samsung has consistently improved its display technology. The Galaxy Note 10 is better than the S10 and the S20 is better than all of them.Ā Samsung is capable of producing the best OLED screens, including iPhone OLED panels, which are made to meet Apple’s needs. Most of Apple’s screens are commissioned by Samsung, but not all because LG is also its supplier. However, Samsung’s new OLED panel seems to offer more.Ā

Samsung Display

Gizchina News of the week

According to Samsung Display, its latest OLED screen is optimized for 5G.Ā Of course, the screen has nothing to do with 5G coverage, reception, or data speed, but it does have a feature that will benefit 5G phones and all other devices. A US safety certification agency shows that Samsung’s new OLED screen reduces power consumption by 15%. According to Samsung Display, the average power of 5G OLED screens has dropped from 1.5W to 1.3W. This is good news for 5G devices because the display now compensate for 5G connectivity power requirements.

Samsung’s new OLED screen has some health advantages

In addition, Swiss Notary Agency Societe Generale de Surveillance said that Samsung’s new OLED screen should also have a health advantage over previous products. It emits 6.5% blue light, which is lower than 7.5% blue light emitted by the panel last year.

Samsung Display did not say which companies will use these OLED panels, and it did not even confirm whether the Galaxy S20 uses a brand new OLED screen. However, many 2020 flagships may use this display whether they support 5G or not. Of course, this may also be the choice of Apple iPhone 12.
