The sales of the Galaxy S20 has started very badly in South Korea. According to The Korea Herald, they are 50% lower than those of the S10 on the first day of marketing. The situation is believed to be at least in part due to the coronavirus.
Sales of the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra are lower than expected. 70,800 units of the Galaxy S20 were sold on the first day against 140,000 units of Galaxy S10 or 220,000 units of Galaxy Note 10 on the first day of their launch on the market in August.
According to The Korean Herald, the main reason for this decline in sales is undoubtedly their price level, the absence of discounts and the drastic drop in the frequentation of physical stores amid fears of contagion from the coronavirus. Operators would also be less inclined to subsidize this generation of the smartphone than the previous ones.
Close to China, home of the epidemic, South Korea is also hit hard by the coronavirus. 256 new cases of infected people were reported yesterday, for a total of 2022 cases. But in addition to the fear of the epidemic, the price of these smartphones could also be played in their disadvantage, especially since Samsung has also lowered the price of the Galaxy S10 and S10+ a lot.
What do you think is the real reason for this drop in sales levels? The price? Fear of the epidemic? The attractiveness of S10 or competing smartphones? Share your opinion in the comments!

maybe they will finally understand that raising the prices is not a choice now
The S20 range is simply way too expensive for a company that will keep the software new upto two years only. The reigning S10 is no slouch and its camera gap with S20 is not that great. Samsung cultivates an excess of phone offerings bringing on purchase fatigue and customers find the phones outdated beyind just 2 years unlike Apple. S20 is bound to sell below par. This will be a lesson to Samsung.
