Microsoft to return to the mobile market with Surface Duo

Microsoft Surface Duo

According to recent reports, Microsoft’s first work after returning to the mobile market, Surface Duo, may be available soon. There are speculations that the software and hardware development is coming to an end. Microsoft plans to complete software adaptation by April. If the plan goes well, the Surface Duo may go on sale in the summer. This device will probably debut simultaneously as the Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3.

Microsoft Surface Duo

According to the report, the Surface Duo comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 flagship SoC. It will also have up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Unfortunately, the Microsoft Surface Duo does not support 5G. Most of the recent or upcoming flagship models will support 5G network. If Surface Duo misses 5G, it will be a major downside for this device.

Gizchina News of the week

Microsoft has experienced a long and arduous journey to develop Surface Duo. The product was originally planned to be released in 2018, but then Microsoft abandoned the Windows mobile operating system. Now 5G, multi-camera system, Snapdragon 865, LPDDR5, and more extreme full-screen form factors will become the keywords of the flagships of 2020.

No, because Microsoft being Microsoft, will release a phone in late 2020 with 2019 specs and will price it the same as 2020 flagships.
I am done with Microsoft and it needs to do a lot more to earn my trust back

No, I won’t. I think as a fan of Microsoft I give them more chance than they give me. I can’t count how many times they have failed me. They just ditch you and don’t care. Their phone, tablet and what have you. Even recently, they plan to limit the functionality of Cortana. Why? In the past, I get laughed at. On top of that, getting their tech support is like getting water out of stone (tech support is excellent when get through). I personally feel they shouldn’t be involved in the phone business. They should stick with what they are good at.

Nope not getting one. Was going to but it will launch with old tech. Windows 10x should be the OS. They keep boasting about their dual screen operating system but not put it on the duo?

I was very, very excited about this phone and was going to be getting it over the Samsung Fold, as the Fold was only released with 4G in my country. Why would we want old technology when 5G is where it’s all starting to happen? Now Microsoft have gone and done the same nonsensical stupidity with the Surface Duo. Come on… surely they have asked the potential users of such devices what is really important and expected and already available in other devices.

There aren’t any Mobile Apps for Windows 10X. It has to run Android. Now, the larger Neo will have Windows 10X…and, being larger it will run native Windows 10 programs.

Hmmm, they could be setting up a Duo Plus or Duo Pro (with latest processor and 5g). I will wait for that!!!

Can’t wait for this to come out. I don’t mind if it doesn’t do well at first so I can pick it up at a cheaper price. Having Android is a genius move, having dual screens without a nasty fold seam is genius. It will make for the best productivity tool ever. Maybe not for the doubters & naysayers, and ofcourse, haters will be haters. But this phone is going to be revolutionary for those that need to use their phone in a more productive manner. We all know how dual monitor/ultrawide PC monitors have been a game changer. Windows suits that environment but for mobile Android is killing it. There’s a vast number of mature applications already out there. The dual screen setup of the duo is going to make the whole experience better. I hope Microsoft nail the convergence of Android to Windows and vis-a-vis. 5G would of made this better too. There’s always the possibility of the duo s.
