God of War 2 development for the PS5 has already started

One of the biggest hits of Sony Interactive Entertainment in this generation was not to sell about 100 million consoles, but to be able to lay the foundations for new (or renewed, in some cases) video game that have been able to sell more than ten million units (a significant figure for a single exclusive game). We talk about titles like Horizon Zero Dawn, Marvel’s Spider-Man and God of War. In the latter case, the public was not only in love with the game but also by how Santa Monica – or the developer team – was able to kick off a new series, innovative as it was respectful of the past.

God of War 2 development for the PS5 has already started

Obviously, it was just a first step and everyone is now waiting for God of War 2 (or God of War Ragnarock, according to rumors) which will most likely arrive on PlayStation 5. To develop a game, however, you need personnel and, in fact, Santa Monica is now recruiting on various positions as Designer, Associate Producer, Lead Design Tools Programmer, Rendering Programmer and Lead Gameplay Programmer.

Obviously, given that we have no announcement regarding God of War 2 yet, there is no explicit reference to this title in the job offers, but, we have an indication that the new employees will work with the “award-winning God of War team”. This is an obvious indication, but we should wait for more details in the upcoming weeks.

In recent months there has also been a talk of a possible new exclusive, also from Santa Monica, has the name LegendZ (which could also be just a code name of the project). For now, we cannot know if it is only rumors or if it is true. Unfortunately, until Sony Interactive Entertainment and its teams are ready to share new official information, we will continue to follow the rumors about the future of the Japanese company. Hopefully, the wait won’t last long.

Stop saying God of War 2!!! It’s frustrating! Its fifth installment of the franchise just say 5!

The last one was most definitely not called God of War 4 so the next one should most definitely not be called GOW 5 . It’s a soft reboot, not a sequel.
