AeroBook Pro 15.6

The famous chinese laptop/tablet makers CHUWI are gearing up towards releasing a pretty interesting laptop model and this time even with the higher end specs. CHUWI AeroBook Pro 15.6 should be launched pretty soon on the Indiegogo crowdfunding website and the initial price point should be about $599. That’s not bad all things considered and you can also already subscribe for another significant discount on their event page. So surely check it out and sign up with your email.

But now let’s take a look at the specs of this laptop, because it is surely above the average chinese laptop these days. For starters it will be sporting a full metal body weighing just 1.53kg, full sized keyboard (not sure if backlit) and large touchpad. The display will be the highlight of this model, because 15.6-inch 4K UHD screen with narrow borders, HDR support and 1.07 billion color, 340 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB color gamut is always nice to see.

Processor-wise it will be running the Intel i5-6287U processor with Iris Graphics 550 GPU, which is a bit older 6th Gen piece of silicone. But compared to the prevalent Celeron N4100 in many other cheap chinese devices it can deliver much more performance, so it’s surely a better choice. It will be supported by 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 256 GB SSD disk, but there will be also additional M.2 PCIe slot available for another SSD drive if needed. Battery will be very solid 60Wh piece and from the pictures i can see at least one USB 3.0 port, USB Type-C port and HDMI port. Overally it looks like a pretty nice affordable laptop so looking forwards to the actual launch.
