March will be unusually busy this year thanks to the canceled MWC 2020. With the loss of the annual smartphone tech event, companies had to release their smartphones without all the glory brought by the international event. The month started with the release of Black Shark 3 and 3 Pro, two new devices set to shake the mobile gaming segment. Now, another company is gearing up to unveil its gaming champion on March 12. That’s the Nubia Red Magic 5G which is coming to impress us with its 144Hz display and Snapdragon 865 SoC. Thanks to a myriad of leaks and teasers we have a good idea of what the phone will be. However, the company’s CEO Ni Fei revealed today through a short clip that there’s more to come.
Gizchina News of the week
According to the small teaser, the Red Magic 5G will also be available in a gorgeous Transparent Edition. Do you remember the trend which started with Xiaomi and it’s Mi 8 Explorer Edition? Nubia will adopt a similar approach, however, instead of visual placeholders like the ones on Xiaomi’s device, we’re going to see some of Red Magic 5G internals. Interestingly enough, we’ll be able to see the active cooling fan spin as it quickly becomes a blur. After all, it is set to support a maximum of 15,000 RPM. This definitively boosts the cool factor of this phone.
The Red Magic 5G includes ground-breaking specs
Besides the record-breaking chip and the gorgeous display, the new smartphone will also include up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM which is just mindblowing. Moreover, it will feature advanced connectivity including 5G and Wi-Fi 6 and a new charging tech. The latter pushes 10A into the smartphone, which can be converted in about 50W or 55W of power. While the cameras may be the less important factor in a gaming device, we’re glad to know that it doesn’t disappoint with a triple-camera array and a 64MP sensor leading the way.
The device will launch locally in China, but we expect to see it coming to International markets in the coming months.
