Apple Confirms iPad Air 3’s Black Screen Issue Can Be Fixed For Free

Apple today confirmed the existence of a black screen problem on the iPad Air (3rd generation), and launched a service plan for black screen problems.

Particularly, Apple announced on the official website that a few Air (3rd generation) devices may display a black screen permanently. And before the device is black, there may be a short flash or flicker.

Apple states that the production date of the affected devices is between March 2019 and October 2019. Eligible devices will be repaired free of charge by Apple in an Apple Authorized Service Provider center.

Other iPad models are not covered by this plan.

This global Apple program does not extend the standard warranty coverage of iPad Air (3rd generation). Your consumer rights laws are not affected by this plan.

This plan covers affected iPad Air (3rd generation) devices and is valid for 2 years from the date of the device’s first retail sale.
