This morning we have received a confirmation that the Huawei presentation event underwent some changes. This event will present the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro, but will be held online and not in the planned conference in Paris. This slightly changes the performance of the media when talking about the device, but not too much. Now, these devices are subject to a leak by a promotional poster. Thanks to this poster we can visualize the possible price of the Huawei P40 in different versions. Also a series of special editions that are probably destined for the Chinese market. Of course, we recommend you take the information with caution.
No one can confirm that it is official information, as the company, as usual, has not confirmed prices, versions or special editions. Everything we know so far about prices is provided by this leak.
Will the Huawei P40 reach the market at 999 euros ($1,130)?
Last year the cheapest Huawei P30 price was 799 euros. This year it seems that things could change if we pay attention to the leak that we echo. In the promotional poster, you can glimpse several special editions of the Huawei P40. There are different designs, which, most likely, are intended for the Chinese market.
Gizchina News of the week
So why are prices in euros? It is one of the first incongruities of this poster, although there is more. The prices set start at 999 euros ($1,130) for the model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It increases up to 1,099 euros ($1,240) for the model with 256 GB of storage and reaches up to 1,249 euros ($1,400)for the version with 512 GB.
They are high prices and that would suit the Pro model better. If the standard Huawei P40 has a price of 999 euros in its cheapest edition we could talk about 1,150 euros for the cheapest version of the Pro model.
Another option is that these special editions have a higher cost than normal editions. This is not usually the case, but it could happen. Even so, 999 euros seems to us an excessive price, even more, paying attention to the leaks on the lowering of the prices due to the lack of Google services.
At this time we cannot confirm or deny anything, so we recommend you to wait and take the information in this article with caution. On March 26, we will see the presentation of both devices with official prices for the different markets.
Well, since p30pro cost 650€ now…and comes with a same SoC, but little worse, but still great camera …..I don’t see why would someone buy this.
I mean, s20 is priced like that, LG v60 less, as many other competitors will cost less….so, sorry Huawei, but I am not interested in making your owners even richer.
