Motorola went from one of the fastest smartphone brands to deliver Android update to one of the slowest. Despite the fact that its smartphones are running Vanilla Android with just a few Moto apps, the company struggles to provide faster updates. One example is the Moto Z4 that came back in June 2019 last year, with Android 9 Pie. Several months after Google’s Android 10 rollout, the Z4 is finally receiving the promised update.
Gizchina News of the week
A few years ago it would be crazy to imagine that Samsung would be faster than Motorola in this aspect. But that’s exactly what is happening. The South-Korean has modified software but it’s faster to update it than Motorola and its vanilla-like Android. When it comes to the Moto Z4, it’s better later than never.
The update in question carries QPF30.130-15-7MQPF30.130-15-7M build number and brings several new features. Namely, we have a brand new gesture-based navigation and revamped app permissions. How to forget the long-waited System-Wide dark mode? The owners of the Z4 are finally able to enjoy the eye-refreshing visuals. Interestingly enough, the update carries January 2020 security patch.
We don’t think the Moto Z4 will live to receive an Android 11 update, but we are open to surprises in 2021. The handset carries solid specs and now users are ready for one more year without the feeling of having an outdated device.
