Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, is getting set to unveil its latest flagship lineup – Huawei P40 Series. At the Huawei’s terminal product and strategy conference held on February 24, Huawei Consumer Business CEO and Huawei Managing Director, Yu Chengdong, said that Huawei’s new 5G flagship will arrive in Paris on March 26. Recent information shows that as the Huawei P40 launch date approaches, the Huawei Mate 30 series gets a good price-cut.
Huawei Mate 30 Series gets a 500 yuan ($71) price cut
All the smartphones in the Mate 30 series are now selling with a 500 yuan ($71) price cut. This price-cut is active for the Huawei Mate 30 5G and Mate 30 Pro 5G. Huawei Mall and Huawei Jingdong’s own official flagship store are currently selling these devices with the promotion price. However, the company did not say if this price cut is permanent or for a small period.
The recent Huawei Mate 30 series price cut is “as usual”. It is common for older flagships to reduce its price before the arrival of a new flagship. This will encourage some folks to sill purchase the older flagship.

[UPDATE] Mate 30 Pro also gets a 300 yuan ($42) price cut
On the Shun Grid Mall, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G 8GB + 128GB version is currently selling with a price cut. This smartphone is available for 5599 yuan ($780). This is a 300 yuan ($42) price cut from the original 5899 yuan ($842) price tag.
A few days ago, two Huawei smartphones, ANA-AN00 and ELS-AN00, got 3C certification. These two phones should be the upcoming Huawei P40 and P40 Pro. According to Yu Chengdong, the Huawei P40 series will arrive in Europe through conventional sales channels. In addition, they will continue to use the EMUI system on top of Android (Android 10). However, just like Huawei’s recent phones, it will not use Google Mobile Services. However, this new series will probably come with Huawei Mobile Services which is slowly gaining popularity.
The Huawei P40 Pro will adopt a dual-aperture full-screen design. This smartphone will use a Kirin 990 chip, a dual 32-megapixel front camera, and a rear-matrix Leica five-camera module. What do you think about the price cut for the Mate 30 series? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
Until Huawei sorts out it’s app store European consumers will be reluctant I use play store for games & in app purchases not to mention it doesn’t have any UK banking apps that I can see,I couldn’t care less about Google maps etc but who in their right mind would buy a phone you can’t bank on ( no pun intended ) no Amazon music or Spotify either 🤷 Hopefully with Google applying for an exemption things get sorted sooner rather than later
Yeh I agree that I’d be happier when Huawei Pay hits the UK. I know this will all take time for Huawei to establish, so hopefully it’ll happen soon rather than later.
Personally I’d still get one, that one more person to help push HMS and get Devs porting to huawei app gallery, the more that jump on the band wagon the quicker we get apps, Google need to put the pressure on orange man if they want to stay in the game.
