Xiaomi Working on Redmi Soundbar 2.0, Appears on Bluetooth Certification

It’s no surprise now that Xiaomi has a plethora of different products in its portfolio. In fact, the plethora might be short of a word to describe that. In its audio segment, Xiaomi last year launched its first-ever soundbar dubbed Mi Soundbar in China and India. Well, it seems like the company is now working on another soundbar but this time it will fall under the Redmi sub-brand. Yes! we’re talking about the Redmi soundbar 2.0.

Redmi Soundbar 2.0

Gizchina News of the week

Earlier today, the Redmi Soundbar 2.0 received its certification by the Bluetooth SIG. This is the first time we’re hearing about this product. As expected, we now have some key details, to begin with, thanks to the FCC listing. The next soundbar will arrive with the model number MDZ-34-DA. Apart from this, we also know that the product will come with the latest Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. For those who’re unaware, the original soundbar arrived with the older Bluetooth 4.2.

Sadly, the rest of the details remains unknown. Although we now expect more information in the coming weeks. Considering the Mi Soundbar 2.0, the successor should also come with numerous connectivity features such as Optical, SPDIF and Aux mode. It is also safe to assume that it will offer improved audio quality as well.

Expected Price, Launch

As of now, we have limited information to comment on the pricing or the launch timeline of the product. Considering that the first-gen soundbar was launched alongside two smart TVs, we might see the same happening this time. The original Mi Soundbar comes with a price tag of INR 4,999 (i.e. roughly $67). Since the next iteration falls under the Redmi lineup, we might see a cheaper price tag as well.
