Microsoft confirms Xbox Series X launch for November 26, but refused it shortly after

After the announcement of PS5 specifications, Microsoft decided to announce the launch date for its Xbox Series X on several official international sites. However, a few minutes after the announcement, the company reported that it was an error.

Due to this “error” several Microsoft sites displayed the updated launch window pointing the new console arrival for “Thanksgiving Day 2020”. The company reacted quickly and reaffirmed the “Christmas 2020” forecast. The report indicated that Xbox Series X would be in stores on November 26, 2020.

In a statement shared on social media, Major Nelson explained that “a product page in some regions incorrectly listed the release date of the Xbox Series X for Thanksgiving Day 2020. We are committed to launching it at Holiday 2020”.  Despite the fact that this possibility is now denied, this launch window would allow Microsoft to fill stores with the next-gen console in time for one of the most lucrative periods of the year. The device would also be pretty established in the market until the Christmas season.

Moreover, Microsoft has a long store with November releases. The original Xbox came on November 15, while Xbox 360 hit stores on November 22. The Xbox One came in the same date of its predecessor. The most advanced Xbox One X launched on November 7.

We believe that Microsoft is trying to keep a low profile with the release date. After all, the continuous spread of Coronavirus in the world will reportedly delay the next-gen consoles. So the company doesn’t seem to be very keen in announcing a launch date now.
