More and more supposed leaks continue to reveal more details about the P40 series from Huawei. Now there is another attempt to provide us with various details about the flagship model of the new series. As is known, the Huawei P40 Pro PE (Premium Edition) has a camera that has been expanded to five modules, because Huawei absolutely wants to improve the zoom. Huawei now wants to offer optical and stabilized zoom at short and long distances, which requires additional cameras. The new leaks say that the equipment of the main camera is as follows:
Huawei P40 Pro PE: Another camera leak with all details
Rear camera:
- 52MP f/1.8, 1/1.28, PDAF, OIS
- Periscope F/4.0 240mm (Telephoto) OIS, PDAF, 10X optical zoom
- 8MP f/2.0 80mm (Telephoto), 1/4.0, PDAF, OIS, 3X optical zoom
- 40MP 1.8 ultrawide/Cine lens, 1/1.54, PDAF
- ToF 3D depth sensor
Front camera:
- 32MP F/2.0, 1/2.8
- ToF 3D (depth and Face unlock)
Other Specs:
Gizchina News of the week
- Display – 6.7-inch OLED (3160×1440 resolution) 120Hz
- RAM/Storage – 12GB/512GB
- Software – EMUI 10.1
- SoC – Kirin 990 5G
Sounds plausible based on the already known information. The full zoom cannot be covered with the periscope alone, because a single camera of this size can only cover short or long distances. Not both at the same time. For example, the Find X2 Pro from Oppo, only switches to the periscope from 5x zoom and only does everything below with a digital zoom via the main camera. Huawei could cover this area 2x – 5x with optical zoom with the second zoom camera.
There were also more details about the rest of the equipment in the said leak, which includes a Kirin 990, 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. Compared to the premium models, the standard Huawei P40 and P40 Pro will come with 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variants.
Previous reports reveal that Huawei P40 features a flat display panel with pill type punch to house dual selfie cameras. The Huawei P40 Pro also has the pill type punch hole but a bit wider compared to the P40 and a curved display.
