iQOO Neo 3 teased with “high-refresh-rate” display and Snapdragon 865

The gaming smartphone range already received three devices this year. One of them was the iQOO 3 5G. Unless you have been living in a cave for the past year, you know that iQOO is Vivo sub-brand focused on gaming handsets. When the iQOO 3 came some of Vivo fans were disappointed with its 60Hz display. For comparison, other gaming phones like Black Shark 3 and Nubia Red Magic 5G boast 120Hz and 144Hz, respectively. Vivo is aware of this disappointment and is now teasing a new model – the iQOO Neo 3 – that will feature a “higher refresh rate”.

The new smartphone will follow the recurring tradition of the iQOO “Neo” series of featuring a flagship chipset. In this case, we’ll have the Snapdragon 865, the very same chip as the iQOO 3. However, this time, the Adreno GPU will be able to go above 60FPS. The new flagship will be revealed in the coming days and we expect a series of teasers to surface before that happens.

Vivo’s iQOO 3 5G boasts a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. This panel has a 180Hz touch sampling rate for lag-free input. However, it has a standard 60Hz refresh rate, which considering the competition is unacceptable. It also supports HDR+ and the panel can push out impressive 1,200nits of brightness. Of course, the iQOO Neo 3 will come with a different screen with 120Hz or even a 144Hz refresh rate. We believe that the design, however, will not be much different.
