While Vivo India’s launch operations have been suspended indefinitely starting today, Vivo China is now in the process of re-opening all its facilities as China looks to put the worst of COVID-19 behind its back. To that effect, the Vivo S6 5G (or at least a close look-alike) which is slated to launch on March 31st has appeared on TENAA database today. The model number is Vivo V1962A. This is a variant of the Vivo V1962BA that got green lights at the CCC some days back.

What’s interesting is that the model’s rear panel has a “G1” inscribed on it while the Vivo S6 5G official teasers show no such sign. This gives us second thoughts about the model’s actual retail label. That combined with the waterdrop notch makes it likely that is an altogether different model (or low-end variant) at the very least. Otherwise, the circular camera cutout is the same as was seen in official teasers.

Coming to the number-crunching game, the Vivo S6 5G measures 161.16 x 74.66 x 8.68mm while weight is 181 grams. The Vivo S6 5G is equipped with a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen and a has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. This display will run Android 10 out-of-the-box coupled with FunTouchOS. While the chipset is still under wraps, we know it is a 5G SoC clocked at 2.2GHz with 6GB/8GB of RAM. On the camera side of things, a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad-camera system has been declared and the whole package will be powered by a 4,390mAh battery.
