Tonight, Huawei held a global launch conference of P40 series smartphone online. But apart from these handsets, the company also uncovered a few other products, including the new smartwatch, the smart glasses, and also brought the Huawei Sound X smart speaker to the global market. In fact, this is the same speaker released in China in November 2019.

The Huawei Sound X smart speaker has an excellent aesthetic design. The top of the speaker hosts a laser-coated touch button. Its diameter is 165mm, height is 203mm, and weight is 3.5kg. The speaker uses an NCVM (non-conductive vacuum plating) process, which means it has a metal-like texture while not affecting wireless signal transmissions. It’s also quite scratch resistant, water resistant and it could be cleaned with alcohol. By the way, the speaker has won the 2020 Red Dot Design Award.

The new Sound X smart speaker cooperates with the speaker brand Devialet. It comes with Devialet’s double-bass cannon. Its peak power reaches 144 Watts, the bass frequency can be as low as 40Hz, the amplitude can be 20mm, and the sound pressure level can reach 90db SPL. In addition, the Sound X smart speaker is also equipped with a 360-degree surround microphone array that supports the Hi-Res standard. Its peak frequency extension is 40KHz.

There is an NFC indicator on the Huawei Sound X body, allowing the speaker and smartphone to connect seamlessly. It supports the Huawei Share function. Thus, this product can realize the transmission of sound from the speaker to the phone. And the sound played on the phone can be converted to Sound X Smart speaker playback. At present, the price of Huawei Sound X overseas and its release time have not been announced.
