OEMs in China are running to fill the market with 5G phones to popularize them. The last year was marked by the arrival of high-end phones featuring the new network standard. This year, however, we’re starting to see 5G reaching the mid-range segment. With the release of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G and MediaTek’s Dimensity SoC, we believe that many companies will ship 5G mid-rangers. It already started with Oppo, Nokia, and Xiaomi. The latter already has the Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30 Pro 5G, and the brand new Mi 10 Lite. We believe that this list is about to receive a new member since an unreleased 5G Redmi phone was spotted in the Chinese 3C agency.
Gizchina News of the week
The new smartphone bears the M2002J9E model number, and according to rumors, it could be a new phone from the Redmi Note lineup. Unfortunately, details are still scarce and besides the 5G connectivity, we can only spot 22.5W fast-charging. However, considering that this is a Mid-range Note smartphone, then it should come with either Snapdragon 765G and MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC.
According to a report from the Chinese tipster Digital Chat station, Xiaomi is about to replace its current Redmi K30 with a new budget offering. It could pretty much be a new Redmi Note smartphone. Worth noting that the current Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max have 4G only. Also, none of them is available in China. We could see Note 9 Pro Max rebirth in China as a 5G smartphone. After all, Lu Weibing stated that the Chinese market will soon receive more phones with 5G.
