Some years ago, Samsung’s name was easily associated with the lack of Android updates. The company had a myriad of smartphones in the market with near-zero software support. Now, the company still has a lot of smartphones in the market. However, the situation is really different when it comes to software updates. Well, the company is doing a truly remarkable job in keeping support for old smartphones. After rolling out the Android 10 update for its flagships, the company started to push the new firmware for mid-range devices. Gizchina News of the week
You probably remember the Galaxy A9 (2018) as one of the devices that started the trend for Quad-Camera smartphones. The device came with Android 8.1 Oreo and Samsung’s former Samsung Experience 9.0 firmware. During the last year, the device was contemplated with the Android 9 Pie update which introduced One UI. Now, the old Galaxy smartphone is receiving a new update which probably will be its last major Android update. Well, we can say that the company did a great job with this device.
The new firmware bears the A920FXXU3CTCD serial and is available in Poland for the SM-A920F Global variant. The arrival of this update proves that Samsung is slightly ahead of its original schedule. However, it’s not a big surprise considering that the Galaxy A6 and A7 from 2018 also got this update. Along with all the goodies brought by the latest Android version and One UI 2.0, the update includes March 2020 security patch.
Now we need to wait and see when the Chinese and Korean versions will receive the same treatment.
