Vivo Y50 announced with Snapdragon 665 and 5,000mAh battery


A couple of days ago, the name “Vivo Y50” was spotted in Google’s Play Listing. This particular device wasn’t been seen before, but after this particular leak, more details started to pop out. Today, all of sudden, Vivo decided to take the wraps off this new mid-range smartphone. It went official via a Facebook post from Vivo Cambodia.

As aforementioned, it’s a new mid-range smartphone with modest specifications and an average price tag. Under the hood, it carries the last year’s Snapdragon 665 paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. Interestingly enough, Vivo equipped this phone with a microSD slot allowing further memory expansion.

These specifications are built around a 6.53-inch display with FHD+ resolution. It also makes use of the new trending punch-hole solution for the selfie snapper. The cutout is placed in the top-left corner of the panel. Moving around to the back, we have a square-ish camera island comprising a 13MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth helper. On the back, we also have the fingerprint scanner.

The Vivo Y50 draws power from a massive 5,000mAh battery which comes with 18W fast-charging tech. On the software front, we have Android 10 and Funtouch OS 10 running atop.

Price and Availability

At the timing of this writing, the new Vivo smartphone is yet to show up on the company’s website. However, it is already available for pre-order at Laure.com.kh. The handset is available in Blue and Black color options and the price is $250.
