As MacRumors reports, Jon Prosser revealed that Apple will release a new 13-inch MacBook Pro codenamed J223 in May.

Jon Prosser particularly said the new MacBook Pro will use a design similar to the 16-inch MacBook Pro. So the screen will be upgraded to 14 inches, while equipped with Intel’s tenth-generation Core processor.

The famous Apple analyst Guo Minghao once predicted that Apple will release the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with scissors keyboard in the second quarter of 2020. Last month, the new MacBook Air has been released, returning to the scissor-style keyboard. Currently, there are only 13-inch models left in the MacBook product line that have not been upgraded. The 13-inch MacBook Pro still uses the butterfly keyboard.

The Apple-related forums provide tons of facts proving that there are many problems with the butterfly keyboard. After a long period of use, there may be problems such as sticking or unresponsive keys. This prompted Apple to launch a free maintenance program in 2018 worldwide. Apple solved this problem by reverting to the scissor keyboard with the new Magic Keyboard on the 16-inch MacBook Pro and 13-inch MacBook Air.

In addition to the keyboard, the new 13-inch MacBook Pro is expected to get an upgraded processor, using Intel’s tenth-generation Ice Lake chip, built with a 10-nm architecture.

Prosser has shared accurate leaked information about Google devices in the past. So there is every reason to think this information is reliable as well. But to check this, we have to wait until May.
