Realme remote gets certified, TV launch inches closer

Realme TV

After the upcoming Realme TV recently got spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), its remote accessory has popped up on the Bluetooth SIG database today.

Now, the certification doesn’t clearly mention this to be a TV remote but we don’t know about anything else that the company is making that could require a remote. Now that we got this out of the way,  the Realme remote will run on Bluetooth v5.0. It will feature a 4.0 Host Controller Interface and will have a battery.

Despite this being a completely new category from Realme, there’s very scarce information available on the product right now. For instance, the model number JSC55LSQLED (on BIS) hinted a 55-inch QLED panel. But this would mean that the Realme TV will be a more premium product possibly competing with the OnePlus TV.

What we can say for sure is that the Realme TV looks closer to launch than ever. Earlier official statements hinted at an ETA of Q2 2020. However, with the unforeseen circumstances of COVID-19, it’s possible that it could be pushed back by a couple of months.
