HMD Global is well known for its commitment in delivering Android updates for all its smartphones. We all know that most of them are part of the Android One project which basically obliges the company to support two years of Android updates. However, we have to give some credit to HMD which is able to deliver this update in a short time. Xiaomi, for example, have just a few Android One device and is failing to provide Android 10 for the most recent one. Today, HMD Global is rolling out Android 10 for its first true flagship device “Nokia 8 Sirocco”.

Gizchina News of the week
When it came, the Nokia 8 Sirocco wasn’t the best flagship offering of the market. However, it still represents the company’s first step into this competitive range of premium devices. The Nokia 8 Sirocco originally came with Android Oreo and later received an Android Pie update. Now, the handset is getting its second major update to Android 10 which may also be the last major Android update the phone will receive. Of course, security patches may keep coming for this device, not necessarily in every month.
The official Android 10 release comes out just a few days after a leaked firmware popped out in the web. That means, that if you have been patient enough to not go through the whole process of sideloading the leaked build, you’ll now get contemplated with the official OTA update. The new release is also more up to date than the leaked build featuring April 2020 security patch. According to the company, the update will reach users across 43 regions until April 23. It weighs 1.4GB in size and brings System-Wide Dark Mode, revamped permission controls and more.
