Xiaomi‘s sub-brand Redmi recently added yet another audio product to its growing portfolio. This time we’re looking at the Redmi Air Dots S. Xiaomi Redmi Air Dots S: Price, Availability
Gizchina News of the week
The all-new Redmi Air Dots S comes with a price tag of CNY 99 (i.e. roughly $14) making it an affordable offering. As expected, the earbuds are only available in China as of now. Those who are interested can already purchase the product. Coming to international availability, we should see that happening later this year.
Specs, Features
As mentioned earlier, most of the specifications of the new model remain identical. We’re looking at 7.2mm drivers, DSP noise-cancelling for calls and of course, touch controls for music & voice assistant. The latest addition is the mono sound output mode in which the two earbuds are split acting as the separate receivers.
The smartphone maker is touting a better sound transmission rate, which is surprising considering it still uses Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The audio product also comes with a low-latency game mode that should come in handy.
In terms of battery life, the company is claiming a 4 hours backup on a single charge. The charging case can then extend life to 12 hours. The Air Dots S also comes with IPX4 compliant rating that means it is splash resistant.
