A few days ago, OnePlus revealed the highly-anticipated OnePlus 8 series composed of the OnePlus 8 and Pro. However, the newer smartphones and all the company’s interest in marketing them won’t affect the support for older devices. OnePlus is one of the companies that deliver the best software support in the Android side of the coin. Therefore, the company is now rolling out OxygenOS Open Beta 12 for OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro.
Gizchina News of the week
The company keeps updating and implementing new features in OxygenOS through the beta channel. If everything goes as planned these builds will be converted into stable ones. The latest Open Beta brings a new feature for the OnePlus Camera app that allows it to detect dirt on the camera lens. Moreover, there’s a new feature that shows the ringing duration for missed phone calls. Along with a set of other features, the update also bumps the security patch to April 2020. The latest security patch is a big surprise, after all, OnePlus may be good with Android updates, however, it always lags behind when it comes to delivering monthly security patches.
If you are part of the Open Beta program this update will reach your OnePlus 7 via the OTA channel. The update has just 316MB in size for users running Open beta 11. If you’re running a stable build, you’ll need to manually download and flash the update. You can head over the source link for instructions.
