We have a new leak about a new smartphone from Samsung, which will be equipped with a foldable screen. It is expected that the screen diagonal of the Galaxy Fold 2 will be 7.59 inches, and the resolution will increase to 2213 x 1689 pixels, so the pixel density will be 359ppi.
Sources also report that Samsung plans to add an embedded front camera to the screen, as in the Samsung Galaxy S20 line, and the screen should support a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Initially, Samsung wanted to integrate the front camera under the screen in its upcoming foldable, but the technology is still not ready, so the smartphone will get a traditional front camera.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will get bigger screens and stylus support
Gizchina News of the week
The smartphone should receive full support for the S Pen (There’s no word if it actually fits into the body of the foldable though). Samsung plans to use the so-called ultra-thin glass, which will provide the screen with sufficient protection and will not create a crease at the bend.
The size of the external screen should increase from 4.6 to 6.23 inches, and its resolution will be 2267 x 819 pixels. The refresh rate of the external screen will be 60 Hz.
When and at what price the new Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will be released is not yet clear for the moment.
At the moment everything is a bit confused because of the coronavirus pandemic. Not just personal life, but also the economy. There are a lot of problems and postponements of new products etc. But at Samsung, everything seems to be going according to plans. According to some recent reports, the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Fold 2 should happen in August.
The pandemic will not lead Samsung to postpone the UNPACKED event in August. But that doesn’t mean that it will be a real on-site event. Of course, it could also be an online event.
