Along with the Galaxy S20 lineup, Samsung launched its latest foldable smartphone dubbed Galaxy Z Flip. To keep the price tag down, the chaebol decided to keep the specifications on the lower side when compared with the original Galaxy Fold. For instance, the device comes with older SD855+ chipset and okayish rear cameras (when compared with the S20 series). Furthermore, we’re looking at no support for 5G connectivity.

Well, It seems like the smartphone maker might soon change one or a few things we mentioned earlier. For those who’re unaware, the company will launch a 5G variant of the device, might be dubbed as Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

As per a recent report by SamMobile, the 5G variant of the device will arrive with a base storage of 256GB. Apart from this, there is no information on either 128GB or 512GB variants as of now. It is worth mentioning that even the LTE variant comes with the same base storage. Furthermore, the 5G variant will arrive with a model number SM-F707B for international markets. The South Korean market, on the other hand, will see the device with the SM-F707N model.

We’re expecting the internal hardware to remain the same with an exception of 5G connectivity of course. To recall, the Z Flip is equipped with a 6.7-inch primary display and a 1.1-inch cover display. Under the hood, the phone runs on Snapdragon 855+ chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 memory. In terms of optics, we’re looking at a dual rear camera module with two 12MP sensors (one wide and the other being ultrawide).

For selfies, there is a single 10MP front snapper housed inside the cutout. All of these are backed by a 3,300mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.
