An unreleased Vivo smartphone was spotted a few days ago by the folks at MySmartPrice. The device may be a new variant for the last year’s Vivo X30 series. However, a new listing on the website of Indonesia Telecom reveals that the Vivo 1938 actually is a new smartphone with Vivo Y30 moniker.
Gizchina News of the week
Unfortunately, details are still scarce about this handset apart from its official name. Moreover, it’s hard to say if this handset will be exclusive for Indonesia or will reach other markets. Indonesia Telecom is the country’s official certification agency. So, considering that the handset has passed through this important regulatory agency, we believe that it may be close to launch.
It could be just a new rebranded Vivo X30, but that is mere speculation right now. The vanilla X30 came with a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a punch-hole selfie with 32MP. On the back, there’s a triple-camera array led by a 64MP shooter that comes accompanied by 32MP telephoto and 8MP ultrawide shooters. Under the hood, the chipset has an Exynos 980 chipset with 5G connectivity. It is one of the few handsets that aren’t Samsung smartphones to use the Korean firm Exynos chipsets.
If the Vivo Y30 is just a rebranding or a new device we’ll probably know more in the coming days.
