Oppo A72 announced with Snapdragon 665 and 48MP camera

Oppo is on a roll with the release of many smartphones during the past few days. Apart from the Oppo Find X2 Neo and Lite, the company also revealed the Oppo A12, A92s, and A52. Now, it is revealing a new mid-range smartphone dubbed Oppo A72. Both A52 and A72 are making way to Germany, so it’ll be just a matter of time until all Europe gets covered with Oppo’s new entries.

Oppo A72 specifications

The Oppo A72 is powered by the Snapdragon 665 chipset just like its A52 sibling and also has 4GB of RAM along with 128GB of storage. The specifications are built around a 6.5-inch display with FHD+ resolution. Moreover, this panel boasts a punch-hole that serves as a house for the 16MP selfie snapper.

Moving around to the back, we have a Quad-camera setup comprising a main 48MP shooter, an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro and a 2MP depth modules. Apart from the cameras, the rear is quite clean since the fingerprint scanner is placed at the side. The handset sports a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom along with a USB-C port.

On the software front, we have Android 10-based ColorOS 7.1. The handset draws power from a beefy 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging. Unfortunately, there are still no details regarding the price of this variant. But it should cost a little more than the A52 which is priced at €210.

With the release of A72, we can pretty much say that Oppo has a complete portfolio of devices for the low-end, mid-range and upper-mid-range categories.
